Destiny's Risky Sparrow Racing - Review

Now that 'Sparrow Racing League' ('SRL') has been playable for nearly two weeks, we, The Hexicle have decided to create a full review of 'SRL', with all it's 'pros and cons' clearly layed out in this ultimate analysis.

To the surprise of many, the racing funtionality handles very well and the controls feel 'natural' to those familiar to other racing games. From, 'Bungie's' past preformances in updates (also known as money-squeezing scams), their 'innovative' ideas been to low standards due to Activision's plans for Destiny.

The maps are very disappointing, as only two are available, although they are both fun to play on and imaginative. One map is themed as a 'downhill level' (like 'The Underground' and 'Mountain' levels in 'Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 5'), while the other map follows the classic design of 'circular laps'.

The loot you recive after completing maps is well thought-out and frequent, the most memorable and stylish loot you can recieve is exclusive to the 'SRL' funtion of Destiny, and has a modest light level of 320. It boosts your moral and gives players something to work towards, that isn't more money-wasting DLCs (although they tend to be very fun and deep).

One major complaint is that other players constantly ram into you and make the game unplayable, we, at The Hexicle, believe that the 'ramming feature' should be toned down as it will bring a MUCH more classical and positive approach to racing in Destiny. Another thing we would like to bring up is a popular question asked relentlessly by avid 'SRL' racers,

"Why on earth would you add a horn that is so loud it could actually cause hearing problems in later life, when you could be adding a simple and essential back-facing mirror?"

Overall, we would rate this feature an eight out of ten. It is very fun and addicting at times, but can be frustrating and the exact opposite of what it was meant to. The amount of maps included is pathetic and disappointing for such a high-budget video game, but it does add a new and long-awaited feature to Destiny, that can be enjoyed by all ages. Oh! We nearly forgot the most important aspect, it's completely free of charge (that's a first for Activision)!
